How do we resist evil?

“It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.”
 Robert Francis Kennedy quote

Who determines the course of our history? Is it the tyrant who by force, molds and bends the minds and the hearts of people? Or is it the small seemingly unnoticed acts of courage in the face of evil that ultimately triumph? Do we revere the likes of Hitler, Stalin or Mao? Or do revere the small acts of courage and kindness from people like mother Theresa, Cory Ten Boom, or mahatmas Gandhi? This blog will be an attempt to remember those people and their acts of faith and bravery that changed the world! Hence The Brobdingagian (big) Chronicles (stories) De Jure (By right of right).

In these days of uncertainty we need people of faith and courage more than ever! Clearly, we are living in evil times as we witness wars, and oppression, thoughtless disregard for basic human rights, and a war on women and children! Our elected officials seem oblivious to the cry of the people. How can we make a difference? Is ananrchy and violent reaction the way to change things? Is change more effective when those who have an ideal or cause worth taking a stand for are willing to suffer for that cause? Martin Luther King Jr. believed in passive resistance taking his cue from Gandhi, while others like Malcolm X and the Black Panthers advocated for violent resistance! What is the best way to resist evil in our times?
